Why this matters

Across the districts we work in, more than half of all Class 5 students cannot read a Class 2 paragraph. The problem is rarely ability — it is access, attention, and the quiet assumption that some children simply will not make it. Our education programme is built to challenge that assumption, one classroom at a time.

What we do

  • Bridge classes for out-of-school children, designed to get them ready to re-enter formal schooling within a year.
  • Foundational literacy and numeracy circles for Classes 1–3, with locally trained facilitators.
  • Community libraries stocked with story books in the children's own languages — open evenings and weekends.
  • Exam mentorship for Classes 8–10, with a focus on first-generation learners who have no one at home to guide them.
  • Parent circles so families understand what their child is learning, and why turning up matters every day.

How we measure success

We don't celebrate enrolment numbers — we celebrate children who can read, count, and stay. Each child is assessed every quarter against age-appropriate benchmarks, and parents receive a plain-language progress note in their own language.

How you can help

A donation of ₹1,500 covers a year of learning materials for one child. An hour a week as a reading volunteer can transform a small library into a child's favourite room.
